About the Academic Success Center

The Academic Success Center offers many services to help students succeed in their studies. Stop by to meet our staff of peer and faculty tutors who are always eager to help.

Tutoring is available in the following subject areas:

• Math
• English
• Reading
• Nursing
• Drug Calculations (Allied Health)
• Chemistry
• Electronics
• Anatomy & Physiology
• COMPASS Exit Exam preparation
• Computer assistance (including SCT-100)
• And many more

 

The ASC also hosts Study Skills Workshops. Learn useful skills and strategies. Some instructors offer students who attend one or more of these workshops a chance to earn extra credit. Topics include:

• Test-Taking Strategies
• Time Management
• Note Taking
• Reading Comprehension
• Interviewing Skills

 

The ASC offers a comfortable place to study – alone or with your study group(s). No appointment is needed.

We can tailor our tutoring services to fit your needs:

• Just “drop in” for tutoring in basic subject areas.
• Make arrangements for a standing appointment with a specific tutor. (Check our tutoring schedule for the specific times that our tutors are available.)

 

While students are responsible for their own success, the Academic Success Center is here to help.
